Canon point: Post season two of Hanamaru
History: Canon Wiki, Character Wiki, Sword History One, Sword History Two, and Anime Wiki
Personality: Upon meeting Jiroutachi one would get the impression that he is a very cheerful drunk. Honestly, that really isn't an inaccurate summation of his character. He is vastly cheerful and carefree, his biggest concern in life seeming to be whether he will remain toasted or not. In fact, he seems to want the enemy and all those around him to be so aware of the fact that he is a drunk and enjoys it when others view him that way. After all, who would expect a deadly warrior from someone who is off giggling from how much sake they've consumed?
And boy does he enjoy that sake too. When one listens to his lines for the game, one will notice that more than half express his desire for a drink or to offer a drink or to fetch a drink or to have someone bring him a drink. He is even known for carrying a large jug of sake around with him when he can and his very symbol as a sword has a sake jug within it. There can be no doubt that when it comes to alcohol and sake consumption that he is quite the champion.
However, he does not keep this joy to himself. One line he speaks is “You drink some too, I'll pour it for you.” Though he could just enjoy the alcohol on his own he is quite the social sword and does very much enjoy spreading that around. There is little doubt that he prefers drinking buddies and can likely be found with them more often than not. Especially since he has the belief that doing chores might sober him up which is not something he ever wants to be. Being drunk is far more entertaining than being so serious and calm all the time! At least that's his opinion.
What should be noted here though is that he doesn't seem to mind if someone doesn't want to be drunk with him. Not once does he seem to show a sign of being bothered by others possibly choosing to abstain. He is more than happy to get wasted on his own without others to join him too. Sure he might complain for a second about a lack of enthusiasm but he'll be over it in a heartbeat. Perhaps the best example of a serious person that he doesn't seem to mind the serious nature of is Taroutachi, his brother.
The first important thing to observe here is that these two swords were forged by different swordsmiths. For that reason it might become clear why he calls him “aniki” like someone younger in an organization looking up to an older person as a brother. But look up to him he does. In more ways than one really. Not only is his brother taller than him (as Jiroutachi will happily point out to you) but he is an impressive figure on his own. He can be found mentioning his brother on more than one occasion, usually to inform you that while he is a big sword himself, his brother is even bigger! There definitely seems to be an affection for him and they are seen talking together in a recollection about what Taroutachi's place is in this world now.
Now, both brothers were created to be divine objects difficult to wield because of their sizes. Unlike his brother though, he prefers to focus his thoughts on enjoying himself rather than how divine he is. All the same, he does seem to enjoy dressing himself up in a way to show how special he is. He is a very flashy sword to be sure, drawn toward prints and silks as well as fancy hair ornaments. Perhaps he isn't necessarily vain but he certainly takes care of his appearance to keep himself looking beautiful.
But one should not underestimate Jiroutachi simply because he's a drunk and pretty and delicate looking despite his height. He is dangerous on the battlefield and a talented fighter. That reach of his makes him able to reach far out and even hit with wide arches if he has a sword in his hand. More than that, if he becomes sobered up by a fight then he can become angry to lose that tipsy feeling and will become more vicious and deadly than ever on the battlefield. Not only that but his ability to have people overlook him for being so drunk means that he has an element of surprise when he attacks because others do not expect him to be able to attack at all. This makes him a very deadly opponent.
In other words, he is far more intelligent than he seems. He wants others to overlook him and celebrates it by enjoying himself with all the alcohol in his system. Plus he actually has quite a good memory. He might talk cutely and giggle and such but there is quite the mind under that haze of sake. He remembers past battles he's been in and even remembers the thoughts of his brother as well in those times. Basically, one shouldn't ever underestimate the drunk man giggling in the corner because one never knows just what he might be observing at that time.
In short, Jiroutachi is just as deadly as any of the swords but masks it easily by dancing away in a boozy state. Which he happens to love every second of and even mourns the loss of alcohol in his system. Being sober is definitely not one of his favorite states of being. If he could find a way to be drunk one hundred percent of the time it's very likely that he would jump at the opportunity. And better still if he can have some friends joining him for those drinks of sake! Drinking is fun alone sure but drinking with company is great!
Abilities and Nerfs: Like the other swords in the game, Jiroutachi is a Tsukumogami meaning he is an object that has existed long enough to have gained a soul of his own. This makes him sturdier than the average human and also means that he requires repairing should he become damaged. It also means that should he be broken then he is destroyed and cannot be saved just like that of an actual sword. He is a bigger than your average oodachi sword (by a lot) and his body shows this with great height.
He wields a representation of himself and has skill in combat in order to fight the evils of his world. His attack is shown to be the second highest of the current swords in the game and his defense the highest. However, he has the some of the worst agility of all the swords but at least he also has one of the highest lifespans of them so he can last even though he's slow. His range has the chance of killing up to three enemies at once with a single strike of his blade which is good because he's weaker than his fellow oodachi when it comes to landing a critical strike. Like the other oodachi, he's only so so when it comes to being able to scout or keep his stats hidden from the enemy. Likely due to how huge his sword is.
Also randomly...he can apparently be drunk always with no ill side effects. In fact, he apparently needs to be drunk according to his lore or his divinity as a holy sword will diminish.
As a result I don't think that any nerfs will be necessary.
Inventory: His Citadel clothes that he was wearing, a fan, and his sake jug. (His sword is obviously far too big to fit into a duffel bag since it happens to be taller than him.)
Appearance: His Citadel attire
Five Desires: Sake, things that remind him of Taroutachi, getting his sword self back (aka getting the actual sword back), getting his battle attire, not having to do work and getting to drink instead

If there was one thing that Jirou happened to love it was sake. Give him sake and he was a happy, happy sword. Which was why when he'd gotten the message that he could get sake for just a little sexual favor he hadn't really thought about it twice. Sure this was something that most people would have to actually ponder, really consider, before accepting. After all, one never knew if something like this was a trick or something equally nefarious.
Now, Jirou wasn't stupid. He knew that there were risks to going somewhere randomly for sake that might not even be there. The thing was this though: It might be there. Obviously that meant he had to go and have a look see! If nothing else he could always just scratch that person off the list of reliable sources of alcohol if they proved to be someone that would trick him for something so very precious to him. Maybe he could even threaten to have his Aniki deal with them.
If Tarou ever showed up.
He pouted for a moment, taking a drink from the large jug that he was holding. (Look, just because he was going to get sake didn't mean he wasn't going to bring his own sake as well.) He missed Taroutachi a great deal. As lovely as people were here, as pretty as they were, they just couldn't compare to Taroutachi. Not with how big and calm and wonderful he was.
A little sigh and he continued on his way. Missing his aniki couldn't mean stopping in his efforts to get that drink! It would be so worth it when he got there!
